The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Harold Maynard can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Dear Maynard Family,

I graduated from Vinita HS in 1973 and had Mr. Maynard as a psychology teacher my senior year. I had so much fun and learned a lot in that class. I was one of the older students in a class of mainly girls and Mr. Maynard would always give me special privileges like leaving class to go to the coke machine or leave class early for lunch. I was always one of the first students to come into class every day so he would tell me what to ask to do ahead of time and then he would let me do it. No one in the class ever understood why I always got special privileges. It was always a great joke between he and I. He became a teacher the hard way by going to night classes while working full time. I always admired that in him but appreciated Mr. Maynard even more the older I got as I really began to understand how much time and dedication it took to accomplish that. Mr Maynard was always one of my favorite HS teachers.

We had a very successful season in FB that year and would he always start out the class talking about the game from the previous Friday night. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing Mr. Maynard and I'm privileged to know I will see him again someday.

All the best to the Maynard family and May the Lord bless you always!

Condolence: Mr. Maynard was a wonderful man. If not for him, I would have never been able to attend college. I was in his Psychology class and still have many fond memories of those days in class - he was by far my most favorite teacher.
Janette, I am so sorry for your loss. May the good Lord be a comfort to you in the days ahead.

Condolence: Janette and family my heart is deeply hurting knowing that Harold has passed. Knowing he is with all his loved ones is a great feeling. Christ has been his friend and leader and now he is resting in the arms of Him. I have to take Dale to the Doctor tomorrow and will not be able to attend the service, but know that I will be with you in prayer. God is Good all the time. All the time God is good. Love and Prayers. Drucilla and Dale.

Condolence: My heart aches for our loss as the earthbound family that admired and loved Harold Maynard, but I rejoice that he is now free of pain and joining our Heavenly Father. Harold and Janette enveloped my mother, Margie Thompson with love and protection as their next-door neighbor. The same selfless generosity and loving spirit was unmistakable for my son Jared, as Harold and Janette agreed to be Godparents. While my mother and father were already gone, I could not give my son grandparents but instead he was truly blessed to have Harold and Janette Maynard for Godparents. Such an amazing family and clearly directed to my son by the Holy Spirit. Janette, you know better than most that Harold Maynard made the world a better place. I cannot say thank you enough for the enormous positive impact you have had on my family. It will never be forgotten that Harold was a devout man and touched so many lives. Remembering you with special thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. God bless.

Condolence: So sad to hear of Mr. Maynard's passing. He was, without doubt, my favorite high school teacher, as well as bus driver for my route. He shared himself with his students, made history and psychology interesting and fun and will always be remembered fondly. My sympathies to Janette and the rest of his family.
